The Story behind Scenewright woodworking
The BAckstory…
During the COVID19 shutdown in 2020 and 2021 Seamus went back in time - to his ‘roots' - woodworking for fun - rather than scenery. In high school he was lucky enough to attend a school that still offered electives in the industrial arts. Seamus took shop class all four years in high school and built many pieces over the years - some of which are still in his house 25 years later. After high school, fine woodworking and cabinet making wasn’t a focus, scenery was. With the pandemic, he was able to retrain himself in some of the crafts he learned as a teen. The impetus for the dive back in? His wife asked for a cutting board. After seeing how much they were, Seamus decided he’d just make one. A trip to his local Woodcraft store and a week later, he was done! Anna loved her new cutting board. Several of Seamus’ friends and coworkers said he should start making them as a side hustle and thus, Scenewright Woodworking was born. Since 2021 he has made countless cutting boards, charcuterie boards, serving trays, live edge furniture and even a skateboard! Many of the cutting and charcuterie boards were sold at auctions to benefit Actor’s Express.
